Effect of Plasma Surface Modification on Print Quality of Biodegradable PLA Films

PLA films, as non-absorbent materials, require modification of the surface before printing process in order to improve wettability substrate and obtain proper ink adhesion substrate. In this paper, surfaces two kinds films were modified using plasma activation with parameters enabling high free energy (SFE) values, then printed on different flexographic inks. Two gases, oxygen argon, used for activation, these make it possible good hydrophilicity SFE values while having effects roughness, or degree etching. Plasma-activated subsequently subjected measurements of: contact angle water, diiodomethane three inks, weight change, strength properties, color gloss was determined.
